Nwachukwu C. Okafor

Nwachukwu Chukwukairo Okafor is a qualified attorney who was called to Nigerian bar in 1990. He obtained his law degree from Abia State University in 1989 and attended the Nigerian Law School in Lagos in 1990. He also has a Master’s degree in law from the University of Lagos, Nigeria in 2004. He specializes in the area of Property Law, Trust and Estates, Aviation Law and Practice, Corporate Governance and Oversight issues, Company law, Policy formulation and Consultancy.

Nwachukwu also has a Masters’ Degree in International Development Policy from the Sanford School of Public Policy Duke University, Durham United States. His study focused on using impact investments to alleviate poverty in developing countries.

Mr. Okafor joined the defunct Nigeria Airways limited in 1993 and rose through the ranks to the position of Chief Legal Officer at the time of its liquidation. He was instrumental in setting up several subsidiaries of Nigeria Airways Limited, including Sky Power Aviation Handling Company (SAHCOL). At the inception of the company, he was seconded to SAHCOL and became its pioneer Company Secretary/ Legal Adviser, a position he held until 2002, when he was transferred back to Nigeria Airways. He bagged over 25 missions in his 14 years with Nigeria Airways Limited.

Nwachukwu, is the founder and president of Bluecross Home Care & Health Services Inc. and Angel Consultants Inc. which are operating in Raleigh North Carolina. Through these businesses he has provided job opportunities to many, while offering quality services to numerous clients.

In Nigeria, Mr. Okafor runs the law office of Nwachukwu C. Okafor and Angel Global Trading and Investment Services Limited. The later is involved the downstream sector in the oil and gas industry, Advisory and investments services to companies.

He is an accomplished columnist and poet, whose articles have been published, by several local and international news organizations.

Mr. Okafor is a community leader and is involved in early childhood education. He has donated hundreds of text books to indigent students in Nigeria. He introduced Ohaneze Ndigbo a community based cultural organization to the United States and led as President of the North Carolina branch from 2017-2019. He is a 4th degree Knight of St. Columbus and was appointed Ambassador of Peace in 2017 by the Universal Peace Federation (UPF). He is married with five children and shares his time between Abuja in Nigeria and Apex, North Carolina in the United States.
